The previous 3 lectures of the OSI objective is for tyou to visualize what happens between the different OSI Layers.

In this video, the actual definition for the OSI layers is discussed.

We need to understand what really are the functions of each layer. In the CCNA exam, it is possible that you would be given a term and Cisco will ask you as to what layers that particular term resides on.

Take note that, when the OSI layers were developed, the main objective was for the standardization of protocols to provide network interoperability.

But as time goes by, the industry needed a set of standards that will apply to the modern tims.

That’s why they developed the TCP/IP Protocol Suite.

What is the difference between the OSI Model and the TCP/IP Protocol Suite?

Actually, they are almost the same, whatever the functions of the OSI Layers are, those same functions also apply with the TCP/IP model, the only difference is the  name.
